What is Ovulation?

The rapid increase of the LH (luteinizing hormone) is responsible for the rupture of the developing follicle by releasing the egg as the released egg from the female ovary cannot survive more than 24 hours inside the female reproductive system. Hence the ovulation day is the more appropriate day of fertile egg in the menstruation cycle. But the male’s sperm can survive in the female reproduction system for three to five days. The fertile period is also called the fertile window. The ruptured egg present in the ovary starts to produce progesterone that builds up the uterus walls.
