As it is mentioned above that energy in the endothermic reaction is always absorbed as heat, but unlike to that in an exothermic reaction, the case is bit different. Although most of the exothermic reaction energy is released in the form of heat, it is not compulsory like the endothermic reaction that it will always be in the form of heat. There are a variety of different kinds of exothermic reactions in which energy is released in another form such as light, sound and even electricity rather than the heat. Common sort of exothermic reaction includes the rusting of iron, freezing of ice, breaking of chemical bonds and nuclear-based fission and fusion reaction. Exothermic reactions can easily be differentiated and identified as their surrounding become hot after the release of energy and the container or the system components carrying out the reaction themselves become cool.
